Hi, my name is Cara, and I’m a sophomore at Westwood High School. I'm part of the golf team and Westwood Student Press, and I've grown up watching the impacts of eating disorders and negative body image on people. I want to raise awareness about eating disorder recovery because body image struggles and disordered eating affect more people than we often realize, yet many don’t know where to turn for support.
Hi, my name is Angie, and I'm a sophomore at Westwood High School. I'm on the SunDancers drill team and I've competed in dance, soccer, and gymnastics my whole life. I've seen how sports culture affect body image and mental health, and I started this project after watching people close to me struggle with eating disorders. Our goal is to create a project that emphasizes hope, recovery, and access to support.
Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions that affect people of all genders, backgrounds, and body types.
Awareness saves lives. When we challenge stereotypes, we create space for earlier intervention, recovery, and compassion.
This project is student-led by high school students passionate about mental health and recovery.
Our mission is to raise awareness about eating disorder recovery by reducing stigma, promoting mental health, and connecting individuals to supportive resources. We aim to remind people that recovery is possible, valid at any stage, and deserving of compassion.
Recovery looks different for everyone, and all versions are valid.
